  Blog no. 5 While growing up in Chicago, United States, I had zero interest in zoology. When I was four, I actually wanted to be a firefighter. My goal was to save lives and be a hero. But coming to India changed that and suddenly I liked animals more.  Anyways, in the US I don't remember seeing any wild animals, I mean I don't remember going to visit any national wildlife parks, but I do remember seeing pets here and there. The only wildlife I remember seeing was in the Lincoln Park Zoo (few animals have died in the zoo but it was mostly due to pathogens like the bird flu, that killed a flamingo and a seal.).  I do not support going to zoos without research on their ethics as many do abuse or kill their animals. Thankfully Lincoln Park Zoo has been given the gold standard for promoting their animal welfare as well as protecting endangered species like the Black Rhino.  US also has other wildilfe like the Moose, Brown Bear, Black Bear, Beavers, Bald Eagle, Bison, Al...

It's blog number 4 now. I have been living in India for almost a decade now.  I have been very honoured and fortunate to have seen, a lot of wildlife here. Animals I have seen are loads of pet dogs, cats, fish, and turtles. but in real wildlife found in national parks or reserves I have seen Snakes, Lizards, Tigers, Elephants, Crocodiles and lots of Invertebrates.  So over the years, I have seen so much wildlife; it would be obvious to give it a 10/10, and you would be correct, India is getting the first 10/10 of all the countries because of my really clear memories. But I am yet to see leopards in India.  Recently, during my trip to Ladakh, I saw brown bears - a mother and her cubs. When i went to Ladakh in June 2024, we went to a remote village in Drass in the Mushkoh valley. The roads were rocky and locals said that bears wandering in the village at night was a common yet terrifying occurrence. So this is blog no. 3. In this blog, I would be talking about wildlife in Italy, Switzerland, and Finland. First I want to talk about my trip to Finland when I was like 8. You know that I don't talk about who I went with for privacy. But anyways, here is my trip to Finland and the wildlife I saw in Finland.  Finland—Like I said, my memories of Finland are really muddled because it's been years since I went there. So I'll give a brief overview of what I remember. The only wildlife I remember is the Husky sled I did (I realise now that what I did back then was supporting Husky exploitation, but my brain did not register this at that time), but yeah, it was a small ride with Huskies pulling a sled around. The other animal I remember seeing was a reindeer. I don't remember if they were captive or not, but I remember seeing them roam around and one of them doing their business.   Now that I have introduced myself and how I'm into wildlife conservation and travel for solely wildlife, let me tell you about my trips around the world. So I'll go in the order of trips with the least wildlife to the most. So now the first trip I want to write about is: UZBEKISTAN—A country located in Central Asia. Their wildlife includes Corsac foxes, desert monitors, and Siberian ibex. But in the winters, it was so cold that thinking about going specifically to a wildlife park was not even in the picture, and most parks were really remote compared to where we were. So the only wildlife we really got to see were swans, ducks, and geese in a pond near our hotel and, most important of all, stray cats. They were legit almost everywhere. It was like in India there were a lot of stray dogs, but in Uzbekistan feral cats were everywhere.
